Webcasts are presented in collaboration with NCDDR's partner, the Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU) project of The Institute for Rehabilitation Research (TIRR) in Houston. Each webcast is approximately one and a half hours long, moderated by a member of the NCDDR staff and conducted by other staff members or expert consultants. The webcasts do not have a video component but provide audio with real-time captioning. Technical capabilities include the display of accessible PowerPoint presentations, handout materials, and other information formats.

During each webcast, viewers are able to submit questions, by e-mail or by toll-free telephone, to be answered by the presenter(s). An archive of webcasts is maintained by ILRU that includes information about the presenters; handouts and/or presentation materials; a transcript; and the webcast .ram file (uses RealOne Player).
